Founder and Principal
George Klemp, PhD
George is a leadership advisor and organizational psychologist with more than 40 years of experience studying high‑performing leaders. As the founder of Leadership Assessment Solutions, he works with boards and senior executives to conduct research‑based evaluations of candidates for top leadership roles.
He has partnered with Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, and educational institutions to strengthen their leadership pipelines and support succession planning. His work blends deep expertise in executive assessment with a strong understanding of organizational and business dynamics.
Before founding Leadership Assessment Solutions, George was a senior consultant at Spencer Stuart’s Leadership Advisory Services and a founder of Cambria Consulting, which was later acquired by Spencer Stuart. At Cambria, he focused on leadership assessment and development, building on the pioneering competency research of Harvard professor David C. McClelland.
George earned a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from Yale University and holds degrees in psychology from Harvard University and the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

Develop a customized assessment framework based on our in-depth research into leadership competencies and characteristics.
Ensure the framework aligns with current role requirements and future leadership needs.

Conduct in-depth behavioral interviews to assess candidates' experiences, skills, and alignment with essential business challenges.
Administer assessments of cognitive abilities, social skills, and personality traits that are crucial for success in the role.
Conduct structured reference interviews to gain a comprehensive understanding of each candidate’s strengths, weaknesses, and other pertinent observations.

Present thorough evaluations of candidates based on the established criteria, enriched with detailed narrative insights.
Compare candidates to benchmarks derived from research on high-performing executives facing similar challenges.
Meet with the CEO/Board to present and discuss assessment findings and recommendations.

Review results with internal candidates/participants, covering strengths, areas of concern, and development suggestions.
Meet with the participant, executive sponsor and/or coach to initiate development plans and suggest targeted developmental assignments.
Identify possible career paths and assignments that promote exposure to other areas of the business and build leadership capacity.
